National Public Radio (NPR) in the States had a show on the singularity, you can listen to it here. Has interviews with Vinge and Doctorow.
Good to see that the singularity is becoming more publicised – although whether the public will react with abject fear or even seriously think about it is another matter.
Dr. Joel Pitt is part scientist, part software engineer, and fascinated with artificial intelligence and consciousness. He spends most of his time as a lead developer on the open-source AGI research framework OpenCog, but is involved in ecological modelling, bioinformatics, data visualisation, and assorted other projects too.
